History of the club

May 1990 saw the formation of the club, at Denman College , Marcham, Oxon, the H.Q. of the Women’s Institute . Later the club became known as the Women’s Institute Club.

As with all things W.I. it was female orientated, but later the male element were allowed in on an associate member basis

In 2003 the management team of Denman College changed as did their attitude to us, and we were no longer welcome, it so happened that one of our members had a contact in the Abingdon Vale Cricket Club. so we were able to change our venue and our name to Thames Valley Croquet Club.
